Description
This EAA publication is a compilation of articles and technical manuals from a variety of authoritative sources that covers a wide variety of topics relating to welded aircraft structures. This book provides a good overview of aircraft welding, from the fundamentals up through more advanced topics like tail surface hinge construction and alignment. Sources include Navy Training courses, Sport Aviation magazine, USAF Structural Repair Manual, Light Plane World, and others. There is a fascinating chapter with diagrams showing many typical welded structures that proved to have deficiencies in actual service, along with the fixes applied. This book is a good way to get an overview of homebuilt aircraft welding and learn useful hints and techniques. Our EAA Welding video (available separately) makes a great companion for this book.
Compiled by Paul Poberezny and S.H. “Wes” Schmid, Copyright 1991. Softcover.
